"Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever." - Psalm 125:1
God is the only One who can always back up His words 100% of the time! He is so solid that we who trust in Him are as unmovable as the mighty Mt. Zion.
On this particular day (which was actually a week ago Monday, but hey, who's counting?), God gave me a couple of songs to carry through the day with me. The first was Matt Redman's "We Shall Not Be Shaken", which says to God that He is faithful and unchanging, so we who trust in and are supported and upheld by Him will of course not be shaken! It's a super excellent song, and you should REALLY check it out!
So God is trustworthy... I carried that thought and that verse with me all day, thinking about what that meant for me, for believers, and for me to imitate. I thought about how trustworthy people are those who are reliable, who show up on time, who do what they say, who can keep a secret. Well, we can certainly trust God with our dreams, with our secrets, with our hopes, with our futures. And I know that's much easier said than done (hey! I wanna know what's coming in my future! I like feeling in control!), but the Psalmist here reminds us that we are absolutely UNMOVABLE when we trust in God's promises. He does and will do exactly as He says! It is who He is! So whenever you're feeling frazzled and unable to control everything, just remember that one thing that can *not* be shaken or taken from you is God's Word and all His promises. You can trust Him! He is trustworthy! It's who He is!
